Bone Cultures: a multi-period interdisciplinary study of human skeletal remains and their associations in the Craven Dales, North Yorkshire.
The Elbolton human and faunal bone assemblage forms a significant part of an interdisciplinary study conducted at Bradford University that is investigating why we find this material in the Craven Dales caves: does the permanence of these environments in the landscape act as an anchor for repetitive behaviour relating to them, so in turn shaping our thoughts through time? It is hoped that through greater understanding of cave dynamics and the agents that act upon bone, we can infer cultural and natural actions that reflect the outside world.
