In this session the class is split into three groups and each group rotates around the different activities so that all the children get the chance to do all the activities.

The activities include:

  • Examining finds and replica objects relating to Roman sites in Craven.
  • Considering what objects are made of, what they were used for and which items survive.
  • A Roman Detective worksheet which uses the museum’s microscope to look at Roman life and technology.
  • Pack Your Bag activity about being an archaeologist on a dig.

There is also the chance to try on a Roman toga!
